i am constantly looking for more storage options and one that’s really worked for me is going vertical, so to speak — move your storage up. when there’s no more room in cabinets, closets or storage furniture it might be time to consider purging, but there’s also an alternative if you simply must keep your stuff! especially the belongings you need at the ready — coats, shopping bags, umbrellas etc. and this storage option is so inexpensive but also easy to make look stylish and attractive — the traditional, simple shaker peg rack is still one of the best looking hook systems out there. you can leave the rack unfinished natural wood, paint it white or black or any other color your heart desires. there are lots of variations on the traditional shaker pegs of course: a rustic wood rack with hooks, a modern black version and this one with white hooks are great looking, too and for a much more contemporary look i love the muuto, or dot hooks, too. i like the idea of hanging pretty shopping baskets or mesh totes from the racks to stash items you need at the ready, too. easy to rack up that stuff, right?
