THE DESIGNER

The Swedish designer Amelia Widell launched the brand MeliMeli after struggling to find the perfect sofa with a reasonable price tag. After working in the interior design field for 10 years she was able to create a range of furniture that fuses style, comfort and quality. Find out more about Amelia here

CARE

Velvet is a soft and luxurious fabric. With proper care, it is a material that can last a lifetime! As velvet is sensitive to liquids, we strongly advise against cleaning the fabric with water or using a damp cloth. Remove dust by hoovering with a soft brush. Dry clean only.

THE FABRIC

We only use 100% cotton velvet from Italy in our furniture range. Cotton velvet is the most durable type of velvet and only consists of natural fibre and therefore healthier to have around the home. Velvet is delicate and can mark and change over time, this is part of the charm and characteristics of the material.

When the velvet furniture is packed for transit it is wrapped tightly to avoid any damage. This can sometimes cause indents and marks to the velvet nap which may be visible once unpacked. These marks will fade and disappear over time once the sofa gets a chance to 'breath'. A soft bristle brush or gentle clothes steamer can be used to buff out these marks quicker. Temporary impressions on the velvet can be buffed out by plumping the cushion and stroking the fabric using your hand or a fabric brush.
